The Senate Intelligence Committee wrote that the FBI created "attempts to corroborate the information and facts in the dossier memos, but the Committee found that endeavor lacking in both equally thoroughness and rigor". The FBI stopped all efforts to corroborate the file in May 2017 when the Special Counsel's Office took more than the Russia investigation.
