From Series 9, Frank is the only original member of the Gallagher family members remaining right after Carl leaves to sign up for the police. Not knowing if he essentially carried out the attack he arms himself into the law enforcement. He digs into the events of that evening and finds that a neighborhood gangster's brother had essentially carried out the assault.
