Other eyewitnesses depose that they noticed an incandescent object of huge proportions hurtling by way of the atmosphere at a terrifying velocity in a trajectory directed southwest by west. From the stories of eyewitnesses it transpires that the seismic waves had been accompanied by a violent atmospheric perturbation of cyclonic character.
