In the late 1990s, the COPINE venture ("Combating Paedophile Information Networks in Europe") at University College Cork, in cooperation with the Paedophile Unit of the London Metropolitan Police, designed a typology to categorize kid abuse visuals for use in both equally research and legislation enforcement.
