On October 20, 2016, Whedon disclosed that he was writing a new undertaking: a historical fiction/horror film set through World War II. In March 2017, Whedon was in negotiations to immediate, create, and produce Batgirl established in the DC Extended Universe. In May 2017, Whedon took over article-manufacturing responsibilities for Justice League, together with producing and directing further pictures for the movie.
