Portland's downtown characteristics two teams of contiguous metropolis blocks devoted for park area: the North and South Park Blocks. The 37-acre (15 ha) Tom McCall Waterfront Park was built in 1974 along the duration of the downtown waterfront right after Harbor Drive was eradicated it now hosts large gatherings during the calendar year.
