Between 1918 and 1951, there were being almost two dozen jazz nightclubs along Jackson Street, functioning from the present-day Chinatown/International District to the Central District. The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) opened in 1933 and moved to their latest downtown site in 1991 (expanded and reopened in 2007) since 1991, the 1933 setting up has been SAM's Seattle Asian Art Museum (SAAM).
