Nudism, in German Freikörperkultur (FKK), "absolutely free physique tradition" originated in Europe in the late nineteenth century as component of doing work class opposition to industrialization. While Christian moralists tended to condemn nudism, other Christians argued for the moral purity of the nude system as opposed to the corruption of the scanty apparel of the era.
