In December 2017, the American FCC voted to put off net neutrality guidelines, which beforehand ensured that Internet service providers treat all information on the internet as the same, and to not charge otherwise by user. However, with out web neutrality guidelines, Internet service providers are ready to increase costs for corporations that need vital bandwidth - like Spotify, Netflix, and (until 2020) CD Baby.
