PETA protested at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 2009 dressed up in Ku Klux Klan robes and handed out brochures implying the Klan and American Kennel Club have the very same intention of "pure bloodlines". PETA argued that the monkey was entitled to the copyright of a selfie photo it experienced taken whilst managing Slater's digicam, and naming on their own to be the administrator of any copyright profits.
