These accidents weaken Black Noir more than enough that Butcher can crack open up his cranium with a crowbar and tear out a massive chunk of his brain, ultimately killing him and avenging his spouse. The sequence eventually reveals that Homelander cannot try to remember either these incidents or the rape of Billy's spouse and implies that Homelander has dissociative id disorder and could have despatched the pictures to Billy himself.
