The Island is set up by DiploFoundation as element of the Virtual Diplomacy Project. The Maldives' embassy is positioned on Second Life's "Diplomacy Island", where people will be able to converse experience-to-confront with a laptop-generated ambassador about visas, trade and other difficulties. It was stated that the island will feature the Nikola Tesla Museum, the Guča Trumpet Festival and the Exit Festival.
