On April 10, 1262, the Mongol leader Hulagu despatched via John the Hungarian a new letter to King Louis IX of France, yet again featuring an alliance. It is unclear regardless of whether or not King Louis basically been given the letter, but at some place it was transmitted to Pope Urban, who answered in a very similar way as his predecessors.
