On 1 May 2012, the Culture, Media and Sport Committee issued a report stating that Murdoch was "not a in good shape person to physical exercise the stewardship of a significant intercontinental organization". On 14 July 2011 the Culture, Media and Sport Committee of the House of Commons served a summons on Murdoch, his son James, and his former CEO Rebekah Brooks to testify prior to a committee 5 days afterwards.
