Ken Williams stated a 3rd match was not produced immediately after A Puzzle of Flesh because of troubles immediately after Sierra was acquired by CUC International in 1996. Distribution was managed by Davidson & Associates, a different CUC corporation, which largely offered academic software program. A Phantasmagoria sequel, Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh (1996), was introduced by Sierra a year immediately after the authentic.
