The Tolstoyans ended up a small Christian anarchist team fashioned by Tolstoy's companion Vladimir Chertkov (1854-1936) to spread Tolstoy's religious teachings. It is the perception that there is only one particular source of authority to which Christians are in the end answerable, the authority of God as embodied in the teachings of Jesus.
