This document extends the Ethernet Segment concept so that an ES can be affiliated to a established of EVCs (e.g., VLANs) or other objects this kind of as MPLS Label Switch Paths (LSPs) or Pseudowires (PWs), referred to as Virtual Ethernet Segments (vES). Each section may well be positioned at a distinct internet site, and the segments are interconnected by an IP or MPLS backbone.
