For a film that pipes in Carly Rae Jepsen and Taylor Swift to pander to the children of two decades ago, this is a weirdly refined and intriguing preference. Landing someplace amongst Once and Begin Again tonally, Sing Street is a soppy sweet like letter to the Dublin of the 80’s packed with childlike pleasure and question, a gaggle of Spielbergian youngsters you just want to hug, and a heap of great faux New Wave jams.
