The meta-horror motion picture, conceived to slash open the veins of cliché in search of something fresher, has been so finished to ugly dying that it is now a little something of a cliché alone. The problems to her research for a deserving applicant of murder should really tease out a screenwriter’s assets, but all the delays right before the thuddingly evident resolution just come to feel like ploys to operate out the clock.
