In the summer months of 2013, the comedy attribute movie Such Good People starring Michael Urie and Randy Harrison was entirely shot in Silver Lake, in and close to the residence of screenwriter/producer David Michael Barrett. Musician Father John Misty’s album I Love You, Honeybear incorporates the music "Nothing Good Ever Happens At The Goddamn Thirsty Crow", which references a well-known tavern in Silver Lake.
