Allow it to sit for at least ten minutes and rinse. After letting it sit for ten minutes, wipe with a microfiber cloth or sponge, and then rinse. The first few times I did this I would put vinegar in a baggie and then wrap it around the shower head so it could soak for awhile. Below are the pictures from when I first wrote about this strategy.
