The 1908 Selig Polyscope Company generation of The Count of Monte Cristo directed by Francis Boggs and starring Hobart Bosworth was claimed as the first to have been filmed in Los Angeles, in 1907, with a plaque getting unveiled by the metropolis in 1957 at Dearden's flagship keep on the corner of Main Street and seventh Street, to mark the filming on the web-site when it had been a Chinese laundry.
