In January 2013, an Australian teen, Matt Corby, complained on Facebook that Subway's "footlong" sandwich was only 11 inches (28 cm) lengthy, rather than 1 foot (30 cm). To celebrate National Sandwich Day on November 3, 2015, Subway provided a Buy One sandwich, Give One sandwich absolutely free promotion.
