In Season 4, Episode 5 ("Brick"), Unser claims Clay killed J.T. Esai was killed by Happy (with his father's acceptance) soon later on, in a deal to realize peace with the Nords and SAMCRO. He requires Chucky Marstein less than his protection, and arranges, when Chucky is unveiled, to have SAMCRO defend him from Lin.
