As others place out, that given Spider-Man's Hero with Bad Publicity position and the fact that both equally of Peter's 1st girlfriends (Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy) uncritically approved Jameson's sights which Mary Jane never did, this amounts to misreading the overall context and shoehorning a sexist Silver Age Lois/Superman dynamic on a set up that exclusively deconstructed it, and presented that Peter is canonically somebody who grew up handsome.
