Luttrell, together with several different Navy SEAL veterans, acted as technical advisors in the course of the manufacturing. In addition, senior military advisor Harry Humphries, a former Navy SEAL who had worked with Berg on Hancock and The Kingdom, served as an associate producer. He acted as a guide, detailing to Berg his eyewitness account of the events that unfolded throughout Operation Red Wings.
