The author sent Gaiman an encouraging and useful letter back, alongside with literary tips. When he was 19-20 decades outdated, he contacted his favorite science fiction author, R. A. Lafferty, whom he discovered when he was 9, and requested for information on starting to be an author alongside with a Lafferty pastiche he had created.
