Marion is deprived of "the humble treasures of adore, marriage, residence and loved ones", which Hitchcock considers aspects of human happiness. In an additional movie, titled Shattering The Silence, a lady slowly recovers her repressed memories of remaining abused by her father and realizes that this is the reason her sister has been estranged from the spouse and children for a long time (she remembered and remaining home as soon as feasible).
