A dour and pessimistic movie about a few pals (Yaphet Kotto, Harvey Keitel and Richard Pryor) who operate the assembly line in a important Detroit auto plant, battling poverty as considerably as they tussle with corruption in both of those their management and automobile workers’ union, Blue Collar is as notable for Pryor’s swaggeringly melancholic effectiveness as it is for driving-the-scenes anecdotes.
