The album's initial solitary was "Rising Up" featuring Chrisette Michele and Wale. Rather than relying on samples, the album was recorded live, with handles (together with "Celestial Blues", featuring the song's original artist, Andy Bey) currently being reinterpreted by the band. The late J Dilla is honoured on distinct situations through the album.
