Milstead formulated a massive coterie of good friends, among them David Lochary, who became an actor and costar in several of Divine's afterwards films. Many of his good friends, a group which came to be identified as "the Dreamlanders" (and who involved Divine, Lochary, Mary Vivian Pearce and Mink Stole), appeared in some of his very low-price range productions, filmed on Sunday afternoons.
