Despite this, Titus does demonstrate regret for what he did, and following Lavinia is raped by Chiron and Dimetirius, he avenges her death by killing them and placing them in a pie to feed to their mother, Tamora. Titus kills his individual son, Mutius, mainly because he disagrees with his conclusion to force his very own daughter, Lavinia, to marry the Emperor, Saturninus (who is by now betrothed to Saturninus' brother, Bassianus).
