Zavis of Falkenstein was beheaded on 24 August 1290 in front of his brothers at the Hluboká Castle walls. This is evidenced by the reality that, at her request, Ladislaus IV's spouse Elizabeth of Sicily was imprisoned in a monastery from September 1286 to August 1287. Archbishop Lodomer wrote that the "seed of discord involving the King and his wife experienced been planted" by the King's sister.
