According to Steve Coll, as of 2019 there is no immediate evidence demonstrating Pakistani knowledge of bin Laden's presence in Abbottabad, even by a rogue or compartmented faction inside of the authorities, other than the circumstantial reality of bin Laden's compound currently being found around (albeit not immediately obvious from) the Pakistan Military Academy.
