Intent on pursuing a solo profession as a rapper, he released his debut studio album, The College Dropout (2004), to critical and business achievement. Because of his association with D-Dot, West was not in a position to release a solo album, so he fashioned and became a member and producer of the Go-Getters, a late-nineteen nineties Chicago rap team composed of him, GLC, Timmy G, Really Doe, and Arrowstar.
