The Senate Intelligence Committee wrote that the FBI made "endeavours to corroborate the facts in the file memos, but the Committee observed that attempt missing in equally thoroughness and rigor". The FBI stopped all endeavours to corroborate the dossier in May 2017 when the Special Counsel's Office took over the Russia investigation.
