In a weirdly fitting illustration of this trope, the 3rd key installment of Sequelitis (which dealt with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time) was acquired much worse than the preceding two, remaining criticized for its Bias Steamroller arguments and moving away from "these things are negative mainly because of poor design and style" and toward "these things are poor simply because they're diverse.
