Griffiths' groundbreaking epic, The Birth of a Nation, the well-known 1920 film Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and the Robert Wiene epic from the exact same year, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, are some noteworthy examples of tinted silent films.
