In 1969 a team of female manga artists (later on named the Year 24 Group, also known as Magnificent 24s) designed their shōjo manga debut ("year 24" arrives from the Japanese name for the year 1949, the beginning-year of a lot of of these artists). In 1993, Wahlberg designed his acting debut in the television film The Substitute.
