Ravenloft has "goblyns", human beings transformed by a curse or spell into scaly, fanged brutes who unquestioningly obey the evil master who remodeled them. Bugbears, the 3rd key species, are even larger, and are brutal, savage thugs who take pleasure in attacking from ambush. Hobgoblins, the 2nd of the 3 principal goblinoid species, are larger and more orc-like, and have a tendency to be militaristic and smart.
