Luttrell, together with a number of other Navy SEAL veterans, acted as technical advisors through the manufacturing. As well as, senior army advisor Harry Humphries, a former Navy SEAL who had worked with Berg on Hancock and The Kingdom, served as an affiliate producer. He acted as a consultant, detailing to Berg his eyewitness account of the occasions that unfolded throughout Operation Red Wings.
