Intent on pursuing a solo vocation as a rapper, he launched his debut studio album, The College Dropout (2004), to significant and commercial results. Because of his association with D-Dot, West was not equipped to launch a solo album, so he shaped and grew to become a member and producer of the Go-Getters, a late-nineties Chicago rap group composed of him, GLC, Timmy G, Really Doe, and Arrowstar.
