A dour and pessimistic film about 3 good friends (Yaphet Kotto, Harvey Keitel and Richard Pryor) who operate the assembly line in a main Detroit car plant, battling poverty as substantially as they tussle with corruption in equally their administration and auto workers’ union, Blue Collar is as noteworthy for Pryor’s swaggeringly melancholic performance as it is for at the rear of-the-scenes anecdotes.
