After researching theater at Boston University, Moore began her occupation with a sequence of television roles. Moore appeared in a number of plays, together with Tartuffe and Medea, and with the encouragement of her English trainer, she selected to go after a theatrical occupation. Moore moved to New York City following graduating, and labored as a waitress.
