Intent on pursuing a solo vocation as a rapper, he launched his debut studio album, The College Dropout (2004), to critical and business results. Because of his association with D-Dot, West was not able to launch a solo album, so he formed and turned a member and producer of the Go-Getters, a late-1990s Chicago rap group composed of him, GLC, Timmy G, Really Doe, and Arrowstar.
