The titular "brood" are a deformed band of what glimpse like dwarf-like small children, developed not by mad science but new-age psychobabble-a female turns her latent anger, panic and mental illness into a physical solution, which turns into a collection of little, psychically linked killer dwarves who are despatched out to wipe out people who prompted her grief.
