CEPIC director Bernard Mercier had quite a few intelligence connections. Mayerus had been a co-founder of the Special Intervention Squadron (Diana Group), and was a near acquaintance of Jean Bougerol, not to point out WNP associates Bouhouche and Wackenhut director Calmette. After his retirement Mayerus was suspected of getting spied on the BOB in Brussels for EIM and to have recruited Bougerol into EIM.
