After a 1976 tour, Townshend took a calendar year-long split from the band to concentrate on paying out time with his loved ones. Townshend took to trashing his hotel suites, although not to the extent of his bandmate Moon. Townshend was nominated for an Academy Award for scoring and adapting the new music in the film.
