Modafinil and methylphenidate are prescription drugs that inhibit the neuronal reuptake of dopamine, a system shared with cocaine. We demonstrate that methylphenidate, but not modafinil, managed intravenous self-administration in Sprague-Dawley rats equivalent to cocaine.
