LulzSec's name originated from the conjunction of the web slang term "lulz", that means laughs, and "sec", which means safety. In May 2011, five members of Anonymous shaped the hacktivist group Lulz Security, otherwise recognised as LulzSec. One of the very first noteworthy targets that LulzSec pursued was HBGary, which was performed in reaction to a claim created by the engineering security enterprise that it had discovered users of Anonymous.
